These hose were cut out in 2005... so they've been a project for nine years. That's just depressing.

When I uploaded the finished item shot to my album I found the image of the pattern pieces cut out:

As a committed hose wearer...hose are fiddly. There's no way round it.

You're using a 2D medium on a 3D body with more angle and direction changes, and movement needs, than anywhere else on the body, except perhaps the wrists.

The reason there are so many baggy ankles on hose in illuminations is that *that's what they looked like*, so you have perfectly authentic baggies to be happy with.

Anyone with seamless wrinkleless hose over their ankles has been sewn in, or is using artistic license in their portraits!
