Here we are then, a first picture of my new l33t knitting skillz:

Of course, I -should- have done a proper gauge test, as this is nearly big enough to be the front body panel of a sweater, rather than a sleeve. I don't know if I can wash it to make it shrink enough. *sigh*
ETA: Well, actually, I might change my mind - I think I know how to adjust the pattern to make a different kind of bed jacket. The idea was that I had started at one cuff and am now progressing up the sleeve to make a simple shrug.
Well, what if I said I had actually started at the back and am now working up to the shoulders? I could split off the piece when I thought I'd gone high enough, decrease on the inside and then increase again making sort of a neckhole. I only have the two pairs of needles, not of the same size, but I could transfer half of the stitches to the other pair to sit while I finished off one side. Then I would have the body of a short jacket, sort of partled-like, onto which I could sew a pair of sleeves, knitted separately, or knitted onto stitches picked from the outside edge of the body piece. I know the lace bit is wide enough for my back, but the ribbing might be a bit tight. I could fudge something on the front so that it's got a bit sticking out to wrap around to the back though - I'm sure.
