I finished the body of the partlet look-alike. I undid the side that was too long and re-knitted it properly. I even sewed the sides of the partlet together at the ribbing leaving the front open. I almost finished one sleeve last night - did two more repeats of the lace pattern today and cast off the upper edge. I've just started casting on 40 stitchese to begin the second sleeve, but I'm too tired to do anything really.

Today has been quite a good day. I woke up, thought it was too early to be up but got up anyway, had breakfast, put my stuff together and walked through a standing drizzle that was more like walking through a mister than rain, to the scheduled scriptorium. I was the only one who showed up other than the hostess, but I had counted on that so wasn't much bothered.

I got quite some work done on my scroll, even started doing some gilding by the time we had to pack it in and go. During the course of the day we had visits from the cutest baby ever (aka Simon), fika (tea and sandwiches with salami) and then sushi, their treat, as a birthday present to me. I quite happily accepted and shovelled it in. And I mean that literally; we were given the ends-box. The box where the sushi-place owner keeps all the not-so-neat ends of the rolls and gives it to special favoured regulars. We were given this box, and let me tell you it was STUFFED to the brim of ... well, not maki exactly, but maki-fixings certainly. There were even a few pieces that held together magnificently, but mostly it was a mix of salmon, tuna and avocado rolls.

Plenty enough to fill us all up and plenty enough for me to bring back home. Now, at home, there was "scheduled" (a note put up on the fridge last night) a corridor cozy-fika. Almost all of us piled into the TV-couch and had glögg, lussekatter and pepparkakor and just had a lovely time. After this I pondered my stomach, and it said it could accept a little more nourishment so I pulled out the ends-box and shared it with Nicole, the American exchange student who lives across the corridor from me. Along with sushi we had a nice chat, and I then took her to my room to show off my scribal skillz.

Right now, I'm feeling mellow, content, slightly overdosed on sushi and very, very tired.
