I place the blame for the nasty case of soreness that is currently developing far, far down in my throat to the Shire of Attemark. Or maybe it's fate telling me off for going down there for a week of fun. I didn't deserve it, so she's hitting me with a horrible cold.
What I really don't like about it, is how slowly it's building. Yesterday I was only experiencing a little rasp way down. Today it feels like there's the coarsest type of sand-paper stuck down at the back of my throat causing me to clear my throat every two hours. If I am not careful I'll be bedded down with a fever or something very soon. We do not want that, precious, no we don't.
Anyway, enough whining. Even if I do get a cold I say it's been worth getting every bit of it.
Some other things I didn't mention as yet were the scriptorium and Aros sewing workshop at the event. Ailitha, a lovely lady from Baerenau hosted the first scriptorium on the Sunday and it was lovely, although I was a little scatter-brained. She did the same again a couple of other days during the week, but I didn't pull out my stuff to work on, because I am working on an assignment and it is just a pain to have to cover it up not to give away secrets. The sewing workshop, myself and Helwig hosted on Monday, starting about ten and going until just before dinner. I had brought one bag of woolen scraps and one bag of linen scraps from which we made needlebooks and one pouch. So I've got most of the scraps with me home again. It was rather nice to see that the needlebooks we finished and gave to His Highness Prince Björn was used as token in Saturday's court though. Always nice to know your efforts are not wasted.
Also, the knight returning to Drachenwald from the West, Sir Garick, reminded me in so many ways, some of them not related to his bearing at all and to my personal experienced lots, of why I joined the SCA in the first place, and the people I did it with. Talk about deja vu experience. I liked it, and I am sure he will be an inspiration to many people.
Really, now I must stop my babbling. The reason for this post was the update on my website. I've written up a paragraph and added links to photo albums on my Events page. Enjoy!
