Sture shirt version 2.0
2007-04-20 07:15 pmI seem to be on a veritable posting bender, updating every four hours on the state of things - but that's the way the world swings this week it seems.
Anyway, what I did was, I went through my stash notes, and pulled out one of the two storage bags and from that pulled the piece of white linen I had selected earlier. From this lovely crisp white linen I have cut off about 1.65 metres, from which I will make a new Sture shirt. This time the body pieces cut to the same length the original I have the sketch of, but shortening the sleeves to manageable proportions. Who needs sleeves 80 cm long? Maybe somebody like Michael Jordan or whatever, but certainly not me!
Tomorrow I promised to help
helwig with buttons, but tonight and on Sunday I'm working on this new shirt of mine. I don't know about embroidery - maybe I'll add it*. But if I do I better make sure it washes all right. Not that it's been a problem for me thus far.
I also realized that I can probably get an entire chemise/camica/smock like thing out of the lovely sheer linen with squares woven in I got as two offcuts at Himla. That would be PERFECT to go under my Italian ren dress. The one that is next in line to be made, I mean.
However - all of the above is a tangent to what I actually meant to write about: sewing for Double Wars. Will I be doing any? Not, as far as I can see now, really. Again, here I come back to the fact that my wardrobe really -is- large enough for a week-long camping event. Add to this that there is not enough time to make something properly, and there is no real need to rush anything, and we come up with a project list for Double Wars with no entries in it at all.
Aside from the aforementioned Sture shirt version 2.0.
* OK, OK, I'm kidding myself - of course I will add embroidery.
