I promised pictures
2007-09-12 01:06 pmIt looks a bit wonky still, with a temporary lacing strip stitched in place on my crappy machine, and using a big big shoelace to lace it closed. I think, if I were to do it again, I'd make the back neckline a bit lower. But I suppose it's low enough for a middle class outfit. Not so extreme as a gentry bodice. I do like the width between the shoulder straps in front, not sure about the width of the actual strap, but I can adjust that. And what might look like slashes along the shoulder straps are in fact basting stitches. I would not trust my fabric to hold together with slashes there.
Oh, yes, in previous ruminations I said I would face the wool with a shiny fake-silk. Well, I forgot about it and did it with linen instead. Let's pretend that's the poor-woman's substitute for silk, shall we.
And so I give you pictures.

Quite pleased is what I am, even though the pictures are horrible quality.
