liadethorneggeWhee, I've gotten going properly now with this GFD project. At last sewing circle I attached the pieces that gives the sleeves the flare at the wrist for that dashing look. I failed miserably to do that with the sleeve pattern as one single piece, so I cut it along the grain, halving the wrist-line. Then I shortened the pieces to a little above the wrist, and onto that added approximately 14 centimetres of fabric that flared out a little. Sewing circle was when I stitched these pieces to the sleeves themselves.
After sewing circle and on Sunday I cut out the pieces from the shell and did up the sleeves, finishing them tonight to a very pleasing result :) I am quite happy with the look of the seams, and fairly confident about the fit of the sleeves as well. That's all for now, I am going to watch Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars.
