I forgot to talk about my other embroidery project.

This one is still only in my mind and is linked to the third URL I posted. Jane Stockton's handout on Anglo-Saxon embroidery with lovely extant examples, instructions for stitches and patterns included! It reminded me again that I want to add some Zing to my plain green linen kirtle (c:a 13th C) that I made up in a hurry for Visby Medieval Week.

Well, it is rather plain, with a keyhole neckline - perfect place to add some decoration! And what better than some embroidery? Nothing, of course. So even if I don't embroider my 16th C shirt, I have the option of doing this kirtle, a partle, a coif, maybe a caul etc etc etc....Projects up the wazzoo, did I mention this before?
