Well, Tuesday shire meeting was interesting. One new-old member who will be staying in town for a year showed up and seemed very nice. And I got volunteered to "host" the Tuesday meetings, also to be a part of a testgroup for handling memberships with the new SKA-SCA affiliation. I didn't dodge them fast enough it seems.

Being the host of Tuesday meetings will mean my name is going to be on the list as the leader of our "study-circle" (which is how we finance our regular meetings), and I was also given the Aros Teakettle Bag in which the electric kettle, mugs and teabags live. I took on the task originally because I was told I only had to show up and take attendance. Suckered right into that one.

The other one, being part of a testpanel for the new membership handling thingy my name was put forward by our marshal who wants absolutely nothing to do with computerized things, and sees me - as the webmistress - as the most suitable. I thought our exchequer would have been better because it's all about how we handle members, but, oh well. I couldn't wiggle out of that one either.

So, official teakettle carrier, and testperson I am.

I've also basically finished the re-design of our shire website. Wierd thing about that is that I have to go through one of the admins of the nordmark.org site to get everything uploaded to our new URL. That includes all future updates and tweaks. Apparently they only have five FTP accounts and all are already taken. Wierd, I say, very wierd. Anyway, we shall be getting a spiffy new url, and the officers should be getting spiffy new mail aliases as well. We like that, it makes them easier to remember, and less prone to change with changing officers.

What else happened at the meeting... odd weeks are sewing circle Saturdays, even weeks are armourbuilding Saturdays. We'll have an extra SKA Aros Business meeting to make financial decisions about possibly sponsoring new members to events and possibly changing our membership fee for Aros. What with the affiliation the Nordmark Seneschal asked all shires to hold official meetings to determine that. It was quite a crowded meeting, ten people, plus Anders the toddler. Not often we get up to that many people.

Oh yes, almost forgot, most important: the Shire Information Flyer that myself and Elisabeth designed and wrote up was officially approved. w00t.

I want to reach TE Helwig and Ermingard, with questions about Tudor documents. They're some of the best qualified people I can think of (a 16th c. mavin, and a scribe). It's a project that will come to fruition at University, hopefully.

Can you ask them to write me at bend_gules (AT) yahoo.co.uk please?

Thank you!

Absolutely. I sent them off an email quoting your message. They are both also on LiveJournal [livejournal.com profile] helwig and [livejournal.com profile] ermingard for future reference :)
