A picture update; the mundane skirt.

Muahaha! So, I've got something looking like a skirt - at least from the front. It's still lacking a waist and hemming, and the back looks absolutely horrid just now. I took in two darts in the back panels but was able to pin it so that the panels ended up about half the width. Not ideal, and the pinned seam in back looks icky, but I can take in a couple more darts somewhere. Also, the addition of a waistline should stop the bias top stretching out around me so much.

If you ask me it looks like a very flirty schoolgirl's skirt. I like it :) Perfect for fall and winter parties. Gorgeous fabric too.

I think the pattern worked rather well, actually, but I'm not sure where to add the extra darts (if they're needed) - in the back, sides and/or front panel. I think I like the front smooth, as it is. And it's generally over the bottom that most extra flaring needs to go while keeping the waistline the right measurement.

Well, it isn't hemmed yet. But I meant it to be about knee-length. I'm not really a skirt-girl in general, unlike Helwig who is happiest in heels and a mini (her words :) not mine)

Anyway, the part I describe as flirty is the flare my skirt has.

I'm probably not making much sense right now, just watched American Psycho and about to fall down sleeping...

Which photos? When I finish my skirt I'll post as I usually do - might get my ass in gear and do it tonight, but one never knows. As for Helwig in heels and a mini, well, you're going to have to take that one up with her, and, possibly, her lord :P

You're not going to University? Aww.. Of course, I would love to skip over to *cough*whereveritwasthatyoumovedtoagain*cough*, but I still don't have the money in the bank to come over :(

I'm sure I'd be able to get a ride, yes, but then I'll need another ride back and I still have no money to come to the UK in the first place, and no money to do anything while I'm there :(

Anyway, I maybe should mention that Helwig's quote above was taken slightly out of context; makes for more amusing repartee, I hope I'm forgiven for that ;)
