And the fucking coughing fucking continues. Yes, by this point I am fed up with it.

I am back in Sweden. Tallinn was colder than the ass on an eskimo in January. I'm sure it's a lovely place and I would love to go back when I am not sick and when the weather is warmer. Much warmer. Fabric shop porn makes even a sick Lia happy.

I have pictures. Whenever I can wrestle my laptop enough to cooperate.

I bought only things of an SCA interest. Wool (10% cashmere, 90% sheep's wool) cloth for a 16th C cape, wool yarn for naalbinding and a pair of knitted socks. Plus a duck. Name is still pending, but might be Tara or Ozzy(Steve).

Stupid, stupid cough. I swear the Estonian pharmacy women are all liars, they said it was an anti-cough tablet I got, but it hasn't worked so far (since Sunday). One of those fizzy kinds you put in a glass of water, warm water even, until it's all dissolved. I remain sceptical.

OMG! Look at those socks! Where did you get them???
I wish my dd could go to Tallinn once in a while, he usually only goes to Jögöva. But maybe he will and if you tell me wher eyou got them I can give him the link to the picture and make him buy socks like that for me.

Got the socks at Rewill, on the street called Vene, just a short walk down from Olde Hansa. They cost 490 EEK (only this week they had a 30% discount).

They're the cutest ever. All wool, knitted with a cotton strand in the heel only for the strength.

The Eleonora stockings from Estonia are beautiful. I did not manage to find any when I was there 2 years ago but according to Mistress J they are knitted from the Eleonora pattern.
And the little ducky is so cute. Make sure it doesn´t catch that bird influnza... and bring it to the sewingmeeting Saturday!

I know, I know! Whee! Much happiness for finding those. I almost didn't though - as I misremembered what was in that store and nearly skipped going in.

The bird flu is bad... I'd like to think that I'm taking the hit on that one rather than my new feathered best friend. I'll definately bring it :)

I hope you feel better soon. I'm not sure if you have the same cold care products there, but here in the states there's a cough medicine that's called Guaifenesin (most common brand name is Mucinex). I've found it to be the best cough remedy yet (and I've had some doozy colds/chest infections)

What kind of wool yarn did you get for the naalbinding? I'm unsure of the type I should get - I have unspun, spun, etc, etc.

We don't have the heavy cold artillery available here. And I'm generally sceptical of medicine. But I'm considering getting some cough syrup at this point.

Wool yarn for naalbinding - the running point is it should be 100% wool and not too tightly spun. I can take a pic of the two skeins I got for you, if you want. The all wool point is to enable you to lightly felt together the ends of your old and new piece of yarn when you're working with it. As long as you can do that - any kind of yarn will work. Which means you can actually use tightly spun wool if you can tease the ends out and mesh them for felting.
