This year, I am again going to go to Double Wars down in Attemark. For this event there are a few things that I'd like to get done. To wit:
  1. Antonio's shirt. Obviously. There is, in truth, not much left to do before I can call it done, I foresee no problems.
  2. A Viking Outfit. The event stewards have set aside one day for Viking age stuff. I've got myself a Herjolfsnes 39 (H39) kirtle I can squeak by with, but I have the nearly finished apron dress I was given, a chemise, and the plans and fabric for a kirtle to go between those two layers. It shouldn't be a problem to make the kirtle up, seeing as how I finished the H39 kirtle in fairly short order, and I'll be using the same idea. I might even whip it all up on the machine!
  3. Elizabethan Cape. Yes, I do have the ropa for warmth, but the cape as well wouldn't be entirely wrong. It might even be considered very right. Also a quick project.
  4. Wool hose. Very handy things to have around. I have one entirely done, the other not so much. I might rifle through my stash and find some thick wool for warm hose too. I've also got the knitted knee-socks from Tallinn for foot-warmth.
  5. Gothic Army Dress Sleeves! I have the buttons, somewhere*, and I have the dress entirely done except for the sleeve-closure.
  6. The brown test doublet. Seriously now, I need to fiinsh the damned doublet so I can test it properly. There isn't much left; shoulder treatment and possibly something done about the closing.
  7. A 16th C kirtle. This is italicised because I would like a kirtle for my late period wardrobe that goes over a corset, this would be the same project as the wool cutting and pinking that I started going nutty about a long time ago. It'd be nice though.

* Somewhere there are buttons. I know I have buttons because I have pictures of them. But where are they? I am almost certain they are still in my little blue mug, but where is that little blue mug? Did I put the GAD in a project bag or did I chuck it up in my wardrobe? Aah! My mind is going loopy!

Ok - maybe #2'll supply some impulse to finish the job on my own Viking age things. I have a fairly nice ensemble that [livejournal.com profile] frualeydis made, but it needs some minor accessories to be complete.

Do you really need all of those? Seems to me that the event is only over a couple of days...

Err. 8 days. Not _in_ 8 days. Nevermind.

Apparently, I can type, but not read.

Oh, yes, loads of time. But since I signed up for the event last night and got the confirmation mail today, now is the time to start thinking about these things!

Sometimes it's good to plan ahead, although I am an expert at doing things last minute.

I'm coming down there on Wednesday evening, and staying till Sunday according to my own plans. Not looking to have quite that much of a vacation that early - I'm saving my days off until a bit later.
