Dreaming

Whoa - I dreamt this morning. This is remarkable because I remember it, and let me tell you: [livejournal.com profile] jenthompson gives good advice in my dreams! :-)

It was like, in the morning early as hell, before she has to go off to her work at school of course. I looked at some bodice pieces she was working on, failed to recognize it as that, felt like an utter idiot and then miraculously found a fully made up (and apparently used!?) quite short rennaisance dress which had the skirt pleated onto the bodice, except it was attached like a shower curtain, with hooks on a rail at the bottom. So fixing it so that it had a flat fron 2 1/2 inches out to either side at the centre front was no problem. This was the first piece of advice I got.

I was also to find some nice Italian looking fabric to cover the ugly ex curtain-fabric up. (I had made it out of the same fabric that the forepart/foresleeves to my Tudor court gown is made of). In addition she mentioned sleeves, super-big and long oversleeves and by chance there was a pair cut out, hemmed and -very- neatly ironed at the same place the rest of the stuff was found. I could be wrong, but I got the impression the fabric these were made of was not quite what Jen had had in mind, but that they were passable.

I think I got some other advice too - so thanks! My first fan-dream, how wierd.

Pretty

Great big snowflakes whirling all around making the world white outside. It's pretty, but also pretty inconvenient. I still can't take my bike out.

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123
3. Find the fifth full sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't search around for the coolest book you can find. Do what's actually nearest to you (We already know you, no use trying to be pretentious)

From Virginia Woolf's "Mrs Dalloway":
She might come; or she might not come.

----

If that was not the book for this week the nearest book would have been Lindsey Davis "Two for the Lions" which has the following quote:
And no point in confusing my partner with too much of the truth.
