Nothing to report
2010-02-05 10:53 amUnfortunately I won't make it to sewing circle tomorrow, and I haven't even done much on my own. I've got my small bag of blackwork with me and have been working - slowly - on finishing the set of cuffs for my shirt with the whitework/blackwork collar.
The shirt has whitework embroidery on the outside of the collar, and a blackwork lattice design on the inside of the collar. The idea was to also make matching cuffs, but the shirt has now been in use for a good while without finished cuffs. I may, also, just do the blackwork, as I used DMC cotton floss to make the collar and doing the non-counted whitework on the outside in that was a pain in the rear, and I've already managed to botch it on one cuff.
What I wanted to do, of course, was make the whitework embroidery in silk, but when I started the shirt I did not have any. Now I do, and it would be painful to have to work in cotton when I have the silk on hand.
