liadethorneggeSuccess! The newbie came to sewing circle and we did our best not to overload her. She said she'd be coming on Tuesday as well, so that's good :)

helwig an even slower start. After the newbie left (she couldn't stay long, had to go home to her dog) we had tea, then popped on Luther and I got to work folding down about an inch of the skirt on the surcote lining kirtle to give it a bit of oomph at the waist.
I finished that fairly quickly, then we had pizza for dinner, and after Luther finished we watched "Primary Colors" while I whipstitched the skirt to the bodice.helwig abandoned costuming and went all out on making a coronet that will personify bling.
Just as the movie ended I was able to try on the kirtle properly and it looks good. I managed to get the pleats in the back at a good place (a total of four there) but the front pleats (only two) could have been moved further back. I'll see if I leave it as is or if I'll change it after I have pressed the seam and tried it on with proper underwear. I'll take a picture or two of that as well, as I'll probably do that tomorrow.
Forgot the camera, so no new photos today.
