Forgot to do the update

liadethorneggeTonight I finished putting the lace onto what will be the neck ruff on my partlet. It'll be swell once it's gathered and stitched on there. I'm not about to get to that stage until I have done the collar embroidery though. Maybe I'll bring the half-finished thing to Civil War and put it up as an exhibit. Then I can work on the embroidery there. But I did also kind of want to wear it at the event. If I can't finish it in time I still have my shirt to use instead of the partlet.
I used the very very fine linen I had for the ruff. Same very fine linen that I used for a veil. I know they used different weights of linen in the same item in period too, and the ruff is something you want to be very fine to get the nice tiny pleats or gathers in. So even though there is a slight colour difference in my two linens I am cool with it. I feel justified.
