Critical Failure
2006-11-25 10:27 pmI didn't report this, but last weekend there was a critical failure of pants.
It had already started at Civil Wars. My braies. Bit of a tear in the ass department. I've had them on a pile of 'to-be-mended' stuff since then. Well, I tried them on and after only a little bit of flexing managed to tear them even further. Whoops. So, what I did was unpick the seams keeping the crotch-gusset in and opening the other seams further (actually that was while trying them on again to gauge how they fit without the gusset and I managed to rip them further). I was thinking I could maybe add a new, larger, gusset in there so as I will actually fit inside them without them ripping open.
Now, though, I don't know. I hate re-doing old projects. I am much more keen to just toss that pair and start all over again. This time measuring properly, adding appropriate ease and try not to be so scrooge-like in my fabric usage. I could totally salvage that project though, if I just quit being stupid about it. But isn't that what CADD is all about? The project is old, done, twice over, and I've moved on to new and shinier things (re: needlebook & brick stitch).
Speaking of my embroidery, I'm very nearly done filling in the background of the front half of my needlebook. I worked on it at the meeting today, and continued when I came home too. It's fun! I'll put the hoop on the scanner when I've filled in this half completely. Can't be taking a picture every ten minutes and uploading even if I want to :)

Date: 2006-11-25 11:50 pm (UTC)Oh yes, I sympathise. Why not just cut up the seams and use the fabric to line needlebooks for example? :)
