Mutton-chops
2007-01-13 10:50 pmOr, mutton-chop sleeves to go on my English fitted gown. That's what I did today.
I was spectical, then I pinned the sleeve to the sleevehead. I started sewing it on and I became sceptical. I tried it on and I was sceptical. Then I whipped the little roll into some sort of place and things started to look up.
I tried to take a couple of photos, but apparently failed miserably on all four(!) attempts. I have started working on getting the second sleeve ready to be stitched into place. Then I realized that time had run away with me and that I was getting tired. Tomorrow I'll see about finishing up that second sleeve attachment and get some pictures taken.
Of course I'm still not entirely convinced about the fit of my sleeves, and with the pleating and the roll, the length is starting to worry me as well. *sigh* Back to sceptical.
My mantra: It will be spiffy when it's done. It will be spiffy when it's done. It. Will. Be. Spiffy.
Besides, I've got to have room for the ruff at the end of my sleeves. '(I just realized!) Oooh, it's going to be fantastic!
helwig's new venetian dress? Oh, it's going to be fabulous. It is pretty damn spiffy already. It's inspiring me to try the green brocade project next. After I finish with the English fitted gown. After.
