So, I pulled out the dark green brocade from my stash and laid out the front part of a petticoat and a pair of curved sleeves.
My idea was to make the sleeves up and put them in the ropa, and make up the petticoat with linen back and use interchangeably for my 16th C wardrobe.
In the picture of course I laid out the skirt upside down with regards to the pattern of the fabric, but just flip the layout around the x-axis and it works. Nobody would see that the pattern doesn't match up in the sleeves and if they did and commented I'd tell them to bite me.
