That note to myself of yesterday was brought about by me clearing up the extra-bed of all the stuff I keep piled there. The stuff being mostly bags of assorted sewing projects. Now I can actually see the bedspread rather than interconnecting islands of plastic bags.

Now if I were to move over to my desk I would be writing a to-do list for illumination and calligraphy projects because that's what I've got piled up there.

And all this clearing up was caused by me going bonkers looking for the mineral oil that I know I have a bottle of for rubbing into my wooden flatware to keep them in good trim. (Ooh, how's that for a run on sentence, didja like it?) Did I find it? No, of course not, which is why I'm considering moving on to the desk. But it should not by rights be there. It should be in my closet, but I pulled out everything and rearranged things there before I even started in on the spare bed.

Don't you just hate it when something is hiding from you like that? It shouldn't be allowed I say. Even more annoying is that I usually keep pretty good track of my stuff. Normally I don't have to go on an expedition to find things, I'll turn around and put my hand down and there it will be, because I know where I put my stuff. On the other hand I've forgotten little stuff over at [livejournal.com profile] helwig's place the last three times I went over there for sewing (tape measure, stuffed sausages for sleeves, wax and Brighthelm token). Bugger me, I think I'm losing my marbles.

I think it's mineral oil. My father, the woodsman, recommended it. In fact, we bought it at IKEA together. Placed next to their wooden cutting boards and meant to be used on them. If I can't find it fairly soon, though, I'll just use regular vegetable oil that I have a can full of in the kitchen. It works quite well too.

Yeah, men shouldn't be allowed to touch sewing stuff to put away. Or should remember where they put it when they do. Make out a detailed list maybe...

Maybe it'll come if you call? Offer the right bribe? Maybe some chocolate? Mmm.. chocolate.
