Mother hen
2007-06-12 05:36 pmThat's what I'm like with my scrolls until I know they are safely in the hands of their recipients.
Well, the tale of woe with the last one is not quite finished. I did the scroll. I sent it off to the lovely, generous and helpful
camele0pard. It arrived safely to her, and she then handed it on to the Styringheim people who were driving down to the event also bringing a scroll she had made. All good and well.
Today, however, I sent a message to our lovely signet, Mistress Bridget, to ask if my scroll was handed out at the event, and she said that the award was given, but the scroll was not. This is my cue to have a little freak out: Their Majesties hated my scroll, it was so ugly they doused it with flammable liquids and set it on fire rather than hand it out. Yes, I know, quite unreasonable, but you can't reason with panic.
Thankfully, Bridget is a woman in control of her senses and calmed me down as well. So then I decided to double check with my delivery channels that everything had gone according to plan. I know from reports that Elsa received the envelope in the mail in time, and I know from reports that she handed it on to the Styringheim people. So, I contacted that step in the chain and it seems there was a bit of misunderstanding. They thought the envelope they were given was something to be brought back to me, and that the scroll Elsa gave them was a joint effort and the only one that needed delivery at the event. Doh!
So, big oops there, but hopefully it will be sorted and the scroll forwarded to Maximilian and Margerite for signing and delivery to the recipient post haste. And boy am I glad I asked.

Date: 2007-06-15 01:35 pm (UTC)There are some scrolls that have gone permenantly missing, Like Gilliam's Pelican scroll by Haakon and my Oder of the Troubedor from the east by my Master Harold who sent it via someone to be delivered at ten years and it never showed up...
Still hoping they will appear at some point.
