Canvas set-back
2007-06-28 12:33 pmWell, I had the fabric company send me out one sample. Which was good, but too expensive, so I talked to a sales representative and she sent me on another sample which was half the cost, but much too loosely woven and coarse. That came in the mail today, so I called back immediately and asked after other products, specifically asking after canvas in a tabby weave. She said she might have some twill weave stuff at home and that she would check.
Hopefully, she will find some canvas in their storage, in enough quantities to last me. But, I am becoming disheartened. I'm not giving up yet, though. It would be fantastic to get the fabric and make the tent, but I have to be confident that my materials are good enough, otherwise I've wasted a whole lot of time and money for nothing. We'll be trying some of the local places here, but I'm not holding my breath. Maybe IKEA has some canvas.
In any case, the news is the same, no news to report. I did start sketching out a pair of loo-signs to put up at mom's school. She wanted me to illuminate a pair of "Laddies" and "Lasses" signs.
