We have a new Prince and Princess and they are Lord Bengt Knutsson and Lady Ermingard Hawenthorn. A pair which, just like Johann and Helwig are Arosites! Vivat! Vivat! Vivat!
Hee, they joked about leaving the regalia at home, rather than lug it all the way up north for the tournament since it might well just have to travel right back down again to Aros - but I don't think anyone believed it which makes it all so much fun.
I am now VERY glad to have dodged the question of becoming Bengt's consort for this tournament... his first choice lady was apparently unable, unwilling, unfunded if he should win so he was looking around - and Helwig suggested my name (iit was the three of us talking about this) and I immediately 1) turned red in the face and 2) shot down the idea vehemently.
I mean, I was flattered for being thought of as experienced/in enough to be considered by her, but really, I am not very comfortable as the one on the throne with the bright light shining on me. That's just not me. Poise and whatnot, knowledge about SCA customs and Nordmark customs are not my forte. I have so far been to only two of the major events in Nordmark. Other than that, my first Drachenwald event was a Crown tournament and my second was a University. I am not exactly a veteran, I don't know people and I only started to recognize faces because a week-long exposure at Visby.

Date: 2004-08-21 07:22 am (UTC)Actually not Queen, just Princess. Nordmark is a Principality and the heirs have only a couple of hours between winning the tournament and being crowned as Prince and Princess of Nordmark.
But anyway, phooey.. I am not almost a Princess in any case. I just felt like one in my pretty dress :P
