Sleeve-update
2004-11-07 12:56 pmI brought the sleeves with me to sewing circle and actually completely finished them. Seven eyelets in either sleeve-head and I also ripped out the ugly machine sewn seam that held the fabric back from the folded back sleeve-head and closed them up at the wrist. Replacing those two with a simple overcast did not take too long, and I did it while watching Elizabeth which the hostess had on DVD. Good film, and some lovely costumes. Too bad that they were so lovely that now every woman and her sewing machine wants pastel-coloured elizabethans which really weren't the norm.
Anyway, seven eyelets and an overseeing of the finishing seams and the sleeves themselves are done. Now I just need to manufacture two lacing strips to match and find some suitable string to tie them on with.
There might be pictures coming, but don't hope for it.
