Yes, I admit, it is good to have one at certain times. But we who have birthdays so close to christmas deserve extra special gifts, I tell you. And I'll get to have my own celebration when the book finally arrives at the end of January (when Amazon said it would be delivered).

On the other hand - getting that message yesterday sort of detracts from the surprise bit of birthday presents. In this case, I don't much mind. When mom drags me out to the store to try on my presents (like last year!), I mind a bit more.

Well, - when it comes to having bithdays close to christmas, I beat oyu by two days, lucky me. To me, the surpris isn't the most important, it's dull when people use time and money and try to surprise you, and it's no success at all. That's why this christmas, I knit socks in requested colours, and they better not complain :P

Well, it's not that I won't give suggestions. I'll give a list of things I want and I'll not expect to get more than a third of them. That way, I know they'll get me stuff I want to have, but not which stuff exactly, if you catch my drift.

I know! It will make my doublet project much easier to accomplish when I won't have to wait for next sewing circle to look in the hostess' copy for those details I missed last time. (And I know I will miss them, or not think of them, or forget). This does mean that I probably won't do very much on that project until next year though. Good thing I thought of that, so I can leave a note in the diary.
