Vigil gown finished
2012-11-06 12:13 pmYesterday night, The dress was completely finished, including mounting points for sleeves, front closing, lacing cord, hemming EVERYTHING.
This morning I've tried to set my new suite of ruffs using only my fingers. They're not going to be very smooth in appearance... but they ought to hold approximately the right shape. I'm going to have to figure out a way to set them properly for future uses.
Yesterday I also tried it all on. I finished! On time!
Tomorrow Sir William is coming by to pick up most of the luggage for Kingdom University, Thursday evening the ferry leaves and the event starts :)

Date: 2012-11-07 07:47 am (UTC)I had huge and wild plans for a while, but I scaled them down after only a little thought.
Of course, the only thing I may perhaps not be totally happy with are the ruffs which I have been unable to set perfectly due to lack of supplies. Still, should look good.

Date: 2012-11-07 05:13 am (UTC)I have read a fair bit on setting ruffs on lifeofglamour's lj (sorry, I can't do a link on the phone).I think I recall hearing her say something about adapting a curling iron for the job, by removing the end so that it will heat to the tip.
