Customization
2020-07-03 03:19 pmOnce upon a time I had complete control over my LJ layout, and I knew how things worked and where to find the things to tweak.
I've not done anything with it for at least five years though, so now when I try to tweak I'm feeling lost again. I added a header to my page - does that work?
Also, is there any way to fix the display of my accountname?
Also, the easy with which you can post images on facebook was always a strength of the platform. I considered posting yesterday with a photo of the bowl of popcorn (which was a requirement), but I remembered that this platform didn't really incorporate photos, which is why I had to host my photos elsewhere. A quick scroll back through my posts shows me that most of my inserted images are broken as well.
*biggest sigh*

Date: 2020-07-03 02:27 pm (UTC)The addition of the wysiwyg editor makes a lot of the work easier. You don't have to use html to just post to dreamwidth. I'm more talking about all the surrounding stuff on the page, like tags, and profile and background and styling... I probably spend way too much brain-time on it.

Date: 2020-07-03 04:49 pm (UTC)One of the things I have never liked about FB was that there are so many photos, when what I want is to read. Which makes it ironic that I am now also using Instagram and cross posting photos to FB.

Date: 2020-07-03 05:07 pm (UTC)I do feel some pressure to pick the correct icon for each post - I had the maximum transferred over from LJ, so I have lots! Strange, and interesting, what kind of things one focuses on in new contexts.
