Yesterday was a good, and productive day. Today has been somewhat less so.
I didn't feel inspire to do the scroll, nor sew, nor read damned Virginia Woolf.

At least I did do the rest of the gilding on my scroll - and have stitched on and half-way finished felling the seam in one armscye on the chemise for the GFD.

I did think though - looking again at my galleries - that I really need to finish the doublet bodice with trim before I start attaching the skirt, otherwise I'll have some horrid loose ends of trim to deal with, and we don't want that, do we. So, my pinning of skirt was probably a bit hasty. I half-knew that yesterday too, which is why I didn't stitch it up I think.

Anyway, so I'll need to unpin, at least in the front where the trim comes down to the waistline. And I'm also thinking of doing the wing bit before anything. Not sure though - since I have already finished the armholes of the bodice neatly I may need to do like I did for the collar piece. Make it up whole, separately, and whipstitch it in place. That leaves me then with lacing problems. I am still seriously contemplating purchasing eyelet-trim and just stitch that on. But it was kind of expensive and I need quite a bit. Well, not like ten metres, but, like, two, and this was meant to be a quick, easy and CHEAP project using the fabrics I had available at home.

I know my posts to LJ lately have been... incoherent, rambly, irrelevant, but that's the way it is.

I didn't go see the movie after all. But you all should - Kung Fu Hustle.

Oh, yes: Seagate Barracuda -> Barracuda -> Bruce Springsteen + Monty Python = Bruce
