So, my dad's turning 60 and I thought I'd get him some good booze, so, what is good whiskey that is not Laphroaig or Lagavullin because he already has that in that damned cabinet...

some alltime favorites: balvenie's double wood, talisker, strathisla,

almost all speyside whisky's i find easily likable.

auchentoshan, cragganmore, isle of jura i remember not being bad at all...

and a 18 year port ellen has still not faded from my memory, ten yeras later. but that destillery is no more :(

probably have forgotten a lot of good stuff? appears to be many years since i was into the single malt world :)
