Real talk in Between Two Peers
2020-06-29 07:21 pm Two peers in the West Kingdom, Tullia (a Laurel) and Helga (a Knight and Pelican) have been having interesting talks and interviews with other notables in their general circle.
This friday's episode got very real and in particular the last question they spent almost an hour on. The question was:
"Does your personal conduct, including social media, cast a reflection on the reputation of your kingdom, your order, and the SCA as a whole? If so, how does that impact you day to day?"
The answers were in part inspired by the posting of the Chivalry from the East Kingdom who sanctioned on of their own for hateful speech online, but both the guest, Sir Valora and Sir Helga had some very real words to share.
The youtube link should start at the question above, but the whole episode is worth a listen.
Each episode has had some real talk, interspersed with a lot of sillyness. Usually they try to keep it to an hour, hour and a half and they stream live every Friday. Check them out to get your head spinning on some SCA philosophy. I disagree with plenty of their details on occasion, but I think I've taken away something very interesting from each one of the interviews.
