Seam allowance folded over and pressed. See how I've made progress with the sleeves. I pinned the life out of them, then I started with the folding down of 1.5 cm seam allowance all around. In the opening at the top of the sleeve I've left the silk to butt up to the edge, but at the sleevehead and at the back I've folded the wool over the silk-look-alike.

There's a bit of awkwardness toward the cuff where I need the silk to go over the wool for a nice unbroken circle of silk inside the wool at the cuff, but I think I managed it. There's also a close-up of the cuff in the gallery. All of a sudden I lost steam though. Don't know _exactly_ how to proceed, how to use thread to stitch it all down like this, don't know what thread to use. Black silk thread probably. Don't know if I want to topstitch all around the half-sleeves or not. Does anyone have suggestions for that?

A Bit Later:
Inching forward, folded, pinned and pressed the other half of the sleeve in the pictures. Taking a break, maybe I will get both sleeves ready for sewing today. In that case I'll bring them on the plane.

A Bit Later Still:
Well, w00t for me, I pinned and pressed the other sleeve too. Might even get some of the many many pins back into the pinbox today too!

p.s. Notice how I'm editing posts instead of posting new ones all the time to spam everybody with my babbling? Yeah, thought I'd give it a whirl.

To do this "invisibly" I'd stitch down the black onto the green using hem stitch (I think its sometimes called slip stitch). Been trying in vain to find it on the web but no joy, so will attempt to explain here.
Working Right to left, secure black thread just under the black fabric. Take a **teeny** stitch of the green silk, ensuring you don't go all the way through to the fabric beneath that. Now take a **teeny** bit of the black. Repeat till you get to the end.

Make sure that you are working **just inside/under** the edge of the black fabric which is turned over. Then when you catch either the green or the black it won't be seen.

You can work in either black or green thread. It doesn't really matter. In fact,if you stitch underneath the black, don't pick up the top most or bottom most layer of fabric, then you could use any colour thread!!

Does this all make sense??

Yep, that does make sense! I lost all my will to sew right at this moment, but once I get it back again that's how I'll do it.
