So I surfed over to the Kingdom University website and checked out the class schedule.

The colour of my face right now? That would be green.

Fabulous sounding classes! 14th C hairstyles, illuminated faces, Guntram's tabletweaving thingy, horned headdresses, goldthread couching, dancing, informal written communication - so many cool things.

That and it's held in London. And it'll be attended by lots of my ID friends.

Event envy.

Does Nordmark hold a university and when?

Ok, found it in Runstenen. 27-29 of January and presumably in Holmrike. Hmm. That will be when I'm supposed to have a finished manuscript, so I will probably be very busy so it's very hard to plan, but I wouldn't mind giving a lecture, at least not if one can get some discount on the fee. But I will be very broke then and Holmrike is far away and thus expensive. Sigh. I would like to though.

You found it :) It's the second annual one, last one was good, so this should be nice as well - I hope you can make it!

And yes, it is in Holmrike, at Brunns Skola in Ingarö - same site as last time, and as crown last week.

Indeed, it is close to you. It ought to be good - just keep an eye on the event once it starts to come closer.

*whimper* Resolve must hold! I would love another chance to see you all, but stupid, stupid economy...

How much would it cost for you to get there?

From: [identity profile] liadethornegge.livejournal.com
Well, event fee: £22 (possibly £24 if there are bunks)
Flight - cheapest kind I can think of right now is Ryanair which would be around 1000 SEK. Plus transport to and from airport which, for the Ryanair airport here, is ridiculously expensive according to rumour.

Well I'll happily pay your event fee and I believe there are still bunks.

Sadly that isn't the bulk of it.

Aww, that is so nice of you, I'm quite touched :) But, as you say, the event fee is not very steep, it's transportation that's the big ticket.

Stanstead airport (the ryanair one) while it is out of london is close to the site :) I used to live in that area.

Come, lifts can be arranged

aaaah come on, what's 1000 SEK?

They're such teeny tiny increments of a currency :-). You can sneeze and lose a bunch in your hanky!

The lady teaching about horned headdresses wore hers at Crown - Lady Fiona. I think she always looks spiffy.

The ryanair airport *is* in the sticks, but it is close to the site. You probably won't be the only person who needs a lift.

If you stay more than the weekend, you can get a look around the excellent fabric-buying districts of London...

Though you'll have to watch your luggage allowance carefully. Or else go home naked because you've abandoned all your clothes. :-)

You get to hear Robert do a court again!

Aha, I saw those horns! I know the Stansted airport is close to the site on that end. Just the one on this end that's annoying to get to. Also, yes, it would be totally awesome to stick around for a few days and do London, and hear your lord do court, and attend all those classes and shop all the rest of my money away in fabric....

Waah! You're still being much too nice and giving me way too many reasons to come!

You guys ought to come for Nordmark University instead, yeah, that's the ticket, it's in Janunary! Same site as Crown, so you know where it is :)
