PSA*: Post of Intent
2005-12-14 11:49 pmI've looked back over the last few entries I made and realized that for someone just looking in on this LJ, that is to say anyone who is not me, my posts might not be specific enough in their mission statements.
It is therefore my intention to make it clearer in each post what that post is about. Like for instance the last few postings on the ropa, posted in haste as soon as I took another photo, didn't really specify what I was talking about. Of course, I feel that's superfluous, but that's because it's happening to me. What is the point of posting here about it if I don't want to share it?
So, I went back to the last few postings and added in slightly clearer signposts of what I'm talking about in each post. I'm letting the tags do quite a bit of work for me in that department already, but I'm unsure how aware people are of tags. I know that I use them when checking my friends page to quickly see what people are posting about. Sometimes the tags give the essential clue needed to make any sense of a post - and when I realized that that's what I was doing myself I thought I ought to fix it.
Hopefully, I'll remember not to dash off a post in five seconds, add clear signposts as to what I'm writing about, and continue to use tags.

I love tags. When I wrote up the post-mortem dress diary for the ropa I used the tags on my LJ to find all relevant posts about the sewing and the research i did. Tags are a goodness. They'd be even better if I knew how to combine two tags to get even more specific posts.

My point is: clearer subject headers, more signposting.
