Sewing Circle Saturday
2006-11-09 05:11 pmSo, this weekend is another sewing circle. I've gotten a fair bit done on my English fitted gown, and maybe I will have gotten all the way to attaching skirt to bodice after the meeting on Saturday. It will be much fun!
I am a little nervous, however, with regards to how I am attaching my different bodice parts as I am only stitching through the shell wool. It's a bit stretchy for my money - very very lovely and pretty and nice, but a little bit stretchy. I might just use a backstitch to attach the pattern pieces, and then go over the finished bodice with whipstitches afterwards for the added strength. That way I will catch a little of the interlining in the seams as well as the shell. You know, not much, but at least a little.
To anyone reading this, you are most welcome to the Aros sewing circle on Saturday, we start at one and we go until six or seven.
Next week in Aros? Scriptorium on Sunday!
