Project list
2006-12-18 04:18 pmI am bringing a few things along North over the holidays to work on. First of all, the scroll I promised to do. Not done yet, not even calligraphy. Ah, well, the hard job of sketching and inking it is done, right? Right.
Then the english fitted gown. I want to have it finished! I am even tentatively considering wearing it to one of the mundane events in the family during christmas. I mean, it is green, and it is fairly spiffy if I do say so myself. I also threw in a cut of black wool from my stash for guarding.
In addition to that, I have the needlebook embroidery in my backpack and the cut of cottolin from which I will make up a smock for my late wardrobe.
Looking through my clothes in order to pull out a chemise to wear when I took photos of the surcote lining kirtle I realized that the only ones I have are made from cotton or is a bit ornate for everyday wear. So I'm thinking I'll assemble it on mom's sewing machine and finish the seams by hand. Saves me some work and still looks pretty. It'll be a straight forward square-cut neckline, straight sleeves, side gores although not ankle length on account of there's only so much fabric left.
