It hurts my eyes and makes me cranky - this is our documentation of important events.

But I suppose Drachenwald as a whole has prioritised this aspect as very low on a scale, because flash fotography at court is forbidden in Kingdom Law. Possibly even in Nordmark's Principality law - I can't recall. So if you weren't there experiencing it in the bad light, you're s--o-l. I'm divided if I think that laudable or not, but my first reaction is to frown.

We don't allow photography during the ceremony in Nordrike either, but afterwards we have a "photo session". The ceremony actually means something and photographing it would make it just a show; because that means that we're stepping out of the middle ages and the experience and look at it from the outside, from the modern world.

I'm really annoyed by cameras in court, and with flash it's even worse. I don't really see why we must have pictures of the actual court, it works just as well to document the new prince and princess afterwards, like in the second pic. (Okay, I just deleted a few paragraphs. I won't start debating.)

I understand you. It's just that I want to live vicariously through pictures of events I did not personally attend!

If people would just not bother with posting such poor quality pictures I would not have anything to whine about, though. So, in essence, what I'm complaining about are bad pictures.

I've noticed that I take less and less photos at events, and the reason for that being I'd rather be present, in the moment, than add a layer of insulation between me and the experience.

So, go ahead and debate if you'd like :)
