IKEA wool scraps. This one I actually like. Lined to the top and eyelets through both layers. It fits my camera too, so I might use it for that. The embroidery around the top is just blanket stitch to keep the two layers together and a line of stem stitch through just the wool. I wanted to try out the gorgeous silk floss that [livejournal.com profile] bippimalin gave me at University.

Also did the cord. Cheap-o cotton in yellow and white, using the fingerloop technique I was reminded of. Not the perfect colour, but in the same family as the silk embroidery floss, right? The cord's a bit thick though, I doubt I can force another one the other way. Oh, the loop behind the pouch is the second half of the length I made. I cut it in half.

It is gorgeous for embroidering with! Soo shiny.

Now remains the problem of finding documentation for a design I like for a project I can do. I definately want to use this silk for something gorgeous.

It just occured to me, maybe I can do a proper alms purse, fully embroidered, with the background in this silk, couched down with gold threads? Ooooooooooooh! I just got excited about it! Squee!
