Better luck next time.

...is that the next time I start on one of these projects I wait to do the background until last. Because if you do it first, you get those unsightly white gaps when the vines need to turn corners. Or when the space you've left is too wide to be covered up by a single row of chain stitches. This time I'm glad it is my own needlebook that I started with, because I wouldn't want to give this away to someone.

Date: 2007-01-19 08:28 pm (UTC)I dunno. I could try I suppose. There's not alot of contrast between the black and green, so I might get away with it.

Date: 2007-01-19 08:34 pm (UTC)Anyway. If I were better at free-form embroidery that wouldn't be a problem. The tiny fiddly areas get a bit uneven in comparison.
Anyway, thank you. A quick look from a bit of a distance doesn't show up my mistakes, so I'll be able to use it still. Just have to finish it first :)

Date: 2007-01-20 03:30 am (UTC)Why not fill the (small) gaps with stemstitch in the green? Shouldn't be very noticable.
